"Angels At Work"

Angels at Night depict the same image as Angels at Work, but in more formal "nighttime" attire. Angels are a significant theme of Darlene Graeser from Unconscious on Canvas.

"Lilith"

The story of "Lilith"

Lilith was Adam’s first wife and was removed from the garden of Eden for being, shall we say, to aggressive and feisty, this painting was an ode to Lilith. She was painted in 2007 and sold soon after to a beautiful yet abused woman living in a prison of fear and control. Soon after the painting went to live with her, she called me and told me through tears that her husband had ripped “Lilith” off the wall and taken her upstairs and locked her away in a closet. My heart was broken for her plight.

The other night my grandson who works at the “Good Will” sent me a photo of a painting that he found at his Good Will...it was “Lilith”. I bought her back the next day for $30. She is with me again for some unknown reason and she is finally safe. What are the chances? Behold the Mystery!

"Sister Sister"

“Sister Sister” Acrylic on Canvas. 20”x 60” February 2019

I have two daughters and their unique patterns are enormously and endlessly seductive to me. This painting attempts to capture the subtle transmission process and nature’s desire to create anomaly. A toast to all sisters everywhere—whether biological or chosen.

"Blue Being"

"Blue Being" was painted by Darlene Graeser from Unconscious on Canvas in 2016 on a 30x48 canvas.

Loss, disappointment, love, joy, shock, longing, and brazen sexuality are all part of these images from the "other side". "View life from a distance with honor and a sense of wonderment."

"Initiation"

"Initiation"

I've been pondering lately the many "me's" that I have been. Each previous one informing the next one. And with every new incarnation there has been an initiation of sorts that has left its mark on my soul. The more profound the mark, the greater the learning. I guess we get juicier with each passing moment, experience, tragedy, or joy.

This painting emerged out of that incubation. Gratitude to the Unconscious and to the Mystery--the door awaits...
